When chillers are opened for their annual maintenance and cannot be resealed, ENECON has the solution. Corrosion can occur by the turbulent water inside chillers. There can be waste, salt or other foreign substance that will cause corrosion to accelerate. Eventually, the corrosion/erosion is severe enough that there is not enough bearing surface on the flange to squeeze the gasket and make a seal. Without a proper seal, leaks will eventually occur, and the machine cannot be put back into service. One repair method is to have a portable machining system brought onsite to resurface the flange, or to have the flange removed and a new one welded into place. Both are expensive and time-consuming.
