Corrosion Resistant, Flexible Coating

UV resistant, liquid elastomeric coating system which dries to a highly durable, seamless, weather resistant, protective ‘skin’.

ENESEAL CR is a single component, water based, liquid coating which dries to a highly durable, corrosion resistant, elastomeric ‘skin’ that provides extraordinary environmental protection to metal and concrete / masonry surfaces. It can also be applied as a top coat over most zinc primers.

ENESEAL CR is a ‘surface tolerant’ coating system that does not require abrasive blasting. It exhibits excellent adhesion to all types of ferrous metal as well as galvanized surfaces. Mechanical wire brushing, grinding or high pressure water blasting is typically acceptable to achieve good adhesion.

ENESEAL CR incorporates a unique blend of corrosion inhibitors, UV resistant resins and pigments, erosion resistant inorganic fillers and elastomeric acrylic polymers in order to provide outstanding performance in all types of demanding industrial and marine environments. Easily applied by brush, roller or spray, ENESEAL CR cleans up quickly and easily with just soap and water.

Certified Class A Surface-Burning Performance

Corrosion protection for environments where surface-burning performance matters.

The ENESEAL CR you already know now offers an important additional performance credential. Two coats of ENESEAL CR achieved Class A Surface-Burning Performance in independent testing in accordance with ASTM E84, with a Flame Spread Index (FSI) of 10 and Smoke Developed Index (SDI) of 40 on steel substrates.

Testing conducted by an accredited third-party laboratory confirmed Class A performance for ENESEAL CR applied as a two-coat system on steel substrates. With its exceptionally low flame spread and smoke development characteristics, ENESEAL CR provides facilities with the ability to combine long-term corrosion protection with documented surface-burning performance.

ENESEAL® CR is particularly well suited for applications where corrosion protection and surface-burning performance are both important, including:

  • Mechanical rooms – steel piping, pipe supports, equipment frames, structural members, HVAC equipment and other corrosion-prone steel surfaces.
  • HVAC and plenum areas – steel duct exteriors, equipment housings, supports and associated steelwork.
  • Pipe racks and utility corridors – inside industrial, commercial or institutional buildings where large amounts of coated steel are exposed.
  • Structural steel – columns, beams, bracing, mezzanine steel and equipment-support structures where corrosion protection is required and the coating's surface-burning characteristics matter.
  • Parking structures and garages – exposed steelwork, piping and support structures, subject to the requirements of the particular project.
  • Manufacturing facilities – production areas containing extensive steel structures, utility piping, equipment supports and mechanical infrastructure.
  • Power and utility plants – indoor steel piping, supports, equipment structures and mechanical areas.
  • Water / wastewater facilities – interior mechanical spaces, pump rooms and exposed structural steel where humidity and corrosion are chronic issues.
  • Hospitals, universities and institutions – mechanical rooms, utility spaces and service areas where architects or facility engineers may specify coatings with documented surface-burning characteristics.
  • Data centers – mechanical/HVAC infrastructure, equipment supports, piping and steelwork in areas where both corrosion protection and fire-performance documentation are important.
  • Commercial high-rises – central plants, mechanical floors, utility rooms and other back-of-house areas containing coated steel infrastructure.

Important: ENESEAL CR's Class A Surface-Burning Performance rating does not classify the product as fireproof, fire-resistive or noncombustible. ASTM E84 provides comparative measurements of surface flame spread and smoke development under specified test conditions and does not, by itself, provide a complete assessment of fire hazard or fire risk under actual fire conditions. All applications are subject to applicable building codes, project specifications and approval by the appropriate authority having jurisdiction (AHJ).
