Bathroom Floor Sealed and Stops Leaks To Floor Below

A hospital in eastern Pennsylvania was having a problem in a first floor bathroom that was leaking down into the basement below.

This area of the hospital is in constant use and could not be taken out of service for any extended period of time.  The local ENECON Field Engineering Specialist was contacted and asked to provide a fast and economical solution.

The ceramic tiles on the floor as well as the tiles about 5 inches up the wall were prepared using a hand grinder to remove the glaze finish.

Then the entire area was vacuumed and cleaned using denatured alcohol.

Two coats of ENECON’s general purpose polymer system, CHEMCLAD GP, were applied with an aggregate broadcast in between coats to provide slip-resistance properties to replace the old rubber mats.

The CHEMCLAD GP will provide a corrosion and chemical resistant protective coating for this wet environment that is in constant use.  This application also stopped the leaks into the basement below.
