ENECRETE WP and WS Stops Hydrostatic Pressure Leaks In Underground Vaults

At a major northern California international airport, three underground fuel tank vaults were experiencing hydrostatic pressure leaks. Sensors inside the vaults that warn of any fluid on the vault floors had been triggered several times. The decision was made to fill the vault wall joints with ENECRETE WP and then seal the joints with ENECRETE WS.

The first step, after following all local and federal confined space safety precautions, was to remove a previously installed joint sealer that had failed. Manual grinders were then used to remove all the existing coating from the walls to provide a clean and rough surface for the ENECRETE WP & WS to anchor and bond to.

The ENECRETE WP was used to plug the joints and then two coats of ENECRETE WS were applied to seal and protect the entire prepared area to provide a breathable micro porous coating that seals but allows any moisture to evaporate.

After this application took place the area received a record breaking month of rainfall.  The vaults were constantly inspected and no leaks were found.
