Heavy Equipment Operator In Chile Extends Service Life Of Bucket Loader

The traditional repair and protection procedure required installing wear plates – a time consuming procedure - which would wear out in less than 5,000 hours of operation.

About 80 kilos of CeramAlloy CBX were applied on this bucket.  This was the second such bucket completed.  The CBX lasted 3 TIMES LONGER than the wear plates – 15,000 hours of operation vs. only 5,000 hours for the wear plates.  CeramAlloy CL+AC was used on the rest of the bucket which is not subject to the most aggressive wear.

The repair procedure provided for the CBX to be installed in rectangles of 5” x 20” each.  These were separated by 1/4 inch 'gaps' which allowed for flexing of the bucket without cracking the CBX.

There are a total of 24 pay loaders of different sizes that will eventually be protected with the CBX and CL+AC.
